My name is Jenille and I’m a millennial mom of 3 boys, 2 cats, and 1 husband. And a partridge in a pear tree. I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart, Jason, for 13 years and counting but we still date each other.
My boys, Nate, Chris and Evan are my world. Nate is 17 and a Senior in high school and one foot away from driving. Chris and Evan are both 12 – that makes them twins! Yes, I like to say I survived newborn twins. The twins still bicker like they’re babies and they will NOT live it down that Chris is 8 minutes older than Evan but that’s because they share a room I think. Do all children who share a room fight?
We live in San Francisco, California – the most expensive city to live in the US. But, we’re native San Franciscans so we’re fighting to stay in the city that we love. It means we remember the good old days: before the boom of tech, before the crazy housing wars ($1M fixer uppers?!), before the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. We are fortunate to be surrounded by family who is literally a staircase away. Dinner around the dining table gets tight and you will see I cook like I’m feeding nothing short of an army but I love it. After all, it takes a village, amiright?
Many moons ago, I left the City of Summer Love. I went to college in Santa Cruz as an undergrad and, later on, I lived/worked in Sacramento as a new grad nurse. There is just something about crossing the Bay Bridge and seeing the SF skyline that makes you fall in love all over again. I live for that perfect bridge shot!
I am a NOC shift nurse by trade caring for the most vulnerable patients – those who are fighting cancer particularly the malignant hematology and bone marrow transplant patients. I am a proud oncology nurse and I absolutely love what I do, even if I don’t say I do after a 12-hour night shift. I love being a nurse.
I wasn’t always a nurse and in fact, nursing is my 4th career. Can’t get any more millennial than that, huh?! I completed an accelerated BSN program in one year when the twins were in preschool so let me know if you want to know what that was like! Let’s say I survived nursing school too! I didn’t choose to be a nurse; nursing chose me – but that is a story for another day.
Is this sounding like an awkward first date? (I’m sorry I wouldn’t know cuz it’s been so long.)
Thanks for reading and come back soon!
